Shoes with seven inch heels. SEVEN! These look like the most painful shoes ever created. If I wore these I would be 6'3"! I doubt I could even stand up in them though. I love that the name of the shoe company is "Pleaser". Certainly can't imagine that wearing them would be at all pleasing.

Looking at how they're designed, I'd say they are clearly targeted towards a certain subset of folks. These boots were definitely -not- made for walking...

exactly -- those are fetish boots. it takes some training to even stand in them, let alone walk, because you are basically on pointe like a ballet dancer. i'm kind of shocked to see them on a normal shoe site like piperlime.

Those are definitely the non-upright kind of shoes...

Ghastly. I can't see them being worn by anyone who isn't turned on by medieval torture devices.

I so have a thing for ballet boots - have for years. But then I'm a fan of women on pointe.

I've never even tried on a pair though as I don't think I could manage it. I did ask Bridgette Harrington about them once and her response was "I can put them on, walk 10 feet fall over and have sex". So there you go - very specific market for those things.

In spite of having gone to several conventions where they would be appropriate I've never sctually seen a pair being worn.

The company also makes boots that are acceptable for Elizabethan personas. They are cheaper than the same boots from other sources with different labels.

Yet another example of the triumph of fashion over common sense.

I had a feeling that was the case. I personally wouldn't feel sexy tripping and wobbling my way to bed, but I guess others can get away with it!

Absolutely fetish wear. I've always wanted to own a pair...preferably thigh highs...but not for walking in, by any means.

hee - I figured they were mainly for very special occasions. I would have to put them on and stay where I was, that's for sure!

I have small feet. I'm not sure you could put me in 7" heels and still have the front of my foot on the ground.

I couldn't figure out how to embed, so,...

Oh yes! The "Kinky Boots" company! It's amusing browsing through their catalog, and they do have some boots that are able to pass for medieval/Renaissance garb. The Pillaged Village just started carrying them. (I work for PV.)

As for why we call it the "Kinky Boots" company, take a look at this movie. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0434124/) (It's made by the same people who made The Full Monty. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119164/))

I own 3 different Pleaser shoes. I am very fond of them, but they are not practical. I think my favorite were the ones with little slots for patrons of a dance establishment of an exotic variety to slip bills into, but I have no use for those.
