Jul. 17th, 2013 04:58 pmNo sooner did I express joy over the lack of heat, then a heat wave showed up and parked its sweaty ass on top of my state. Boo.
I just "accidentally" bought this corset! It was on sale for $47 and I thought, I don't really need it - then I found a $10 off coupon code (mustoff10 if you're curious) so with shipping it was $45. I have a couple of their corsets and they are pretty darn good. And yay for the length (I have a longer torso).
Turns out I've had this Livejournal for ten years this month. Wow.

Fake AP Stylebook (Twitter feed). Recent gems - "The passive voice should be avoided by you." "Alcatraz Prison should never be referred to by the colloquial name 'the Rock.' Instead, refer to it by the more formal "Dwayne Johnson."

May. 9th, 2007 11:09 amI just wanted to thank all of you for your lovely replies to my post about GreyPuff yesterday. It really meant a lot to me. Jeff's was away for about two weeks so it was extra hard to have to do that by myself. I was feeling pretty lonely.
About two months after I moved in with Jeff, my Kitty died, and for three nights afterwords GreyPuff slept next to my pillow. That was the kind of cat she was. We found out she was having kidney issues about a year ago, so plenty of time to spoil her, and we were able to alleviate a lot of the problems with meds. And she did have a long life; it's just tough to have to let go. I am a very tender-hearted person, I just try not to let it show that often :)
Anyway, Jeff's back now so I'm not rattling around in the house by myself. School's out too.
Thanks again, you all are the best and I really appreciate your good thoughts.

"brain and brain, what is brain?"
Mar. 10th, 2007 07:54 amSpring Break has arrived! I can't remember a time when I needed a break as much as I do right now. Lasy year we went to London, this year we may make it to Chicago for a day. That's all right, as long as I can sleep past 5:30 AM I'm quite happy.
I was going to make this awesome post where I updated everything that's been going on, but my mind just did the equivalent of the Windows Blue Screen of Death. So I'll leave you with a photo of what's left of the snow around here.

Yep, just random piles of ice, like some frost giant sneezed and his icy snot went all over the town. We do have a couple of piles of ice in the front yard that are prettier, though not for much longer. Oh well, winter will be back at the end of the year; right now I could deal with springtime and a chance to maybe start a garden.
There's a lot of stress on my FList right now - here's wishing all of you better times.
Be back later when my brain resets.

I did a "find random LJ users" search and the first journal it pulled up belonged to someone who was into Journey - Steve Perry slash. Again, I'm not one to judge, but - hasn't that ship sailed years ago? Are they even still alive? (I Googled it - yes, at least Perry is still kicking around.) At least if she were into Loverboy she could devote paragraphs to describing their tight leather pants. I remember seeing Loverboy videos and noticing that it seemed like the band only owned one pair of leather pants in each color. One video the guy with the curly hair was wearing the red pants and the lead singer had on the black ones...then in another video they seemed to have swapped pants. And, no, I don't want to think about the leather-pants-swapping escapades of Loverboy, thankyouverymuch.
I also remember watching Journey videos and wondering why Steve Perry never seemed to wash his hair. I mainly wanted to see a Duran Duran video, so when I watched MTV I had to spend the time criticizing the other bands.

I was starting to feel sorry for myself 'cause no-one was commenting on my entries - and then
shipbrook said that my posts weren't showing up on his Friends list. ??? I think it has something to do with my recent "Friends Only" banner and having to backdate entries. If anyone has any experience with that sort of thing, let me know if there's something crucial I'm missing. Oh, and if you're really into my end of semester paper-writing whining, check out my journal.
Meanwhile...

Meanwhile...
I made this joke after we saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire last night, shipbrook made the comic. We make a good team.
Wow, I'm so flattered, I've picked up a few new readers in the last couple of days. I think that's so cool. Lately I've been tending to write about school, but sometimes I get in a crafty frame of mind and write about arts and crafts.
Currently, I'm writing a presentation for American Lit about James Fennimore Cooper, whose work is quite tedious. Fortunately, my opinion is in good company - witness Mark Twain's snarky commentary on the writer.
