Well, I'm afraid this is going to be one of those boring "laundry list" type entries. Let's see...had an enjoyable long weekend at the Home Base; lots of packing, as I got off schedule when I was at home and unemployed. I was treated to a nice farewell bbq at the House of S(qu)id. Except nobody said goodbye to me. This is a good thing, in my mind, anyway, as it indicates that my friends intend to stay in touch; thanks to the SCA, we should still see each other on a regular basis. Plus I'm sure we'll make expeditions to visit - I must admit that shopping is better down there.

The nice long weekend lulled me out of my newly-developed student mentality, and, as a result, I forgot to keep up with my homework. Nothing that staying up late Monday night couldn't fix. I have a routine when I'm at school, consisting of class all morning, then hitting the library to check e-mail, and then reading all afternoon. My favorite place to read is the third floor of the library. Not only is it quiet, it's also where the Italian costuming books live. As soon as I'm in my apartment, I'm going to check at least one of those great sources out and pore over it all night. Muah ha ha...

As I've mentioned before, I'm staying with my uncle until next week. My aunt is off visiting her family in N.C., so it's just us. I read and he watches TV, he goes to bed early as he works 7 - 3 so he leaves pretty early in the a.m.

"Boot camp" (the affectionate name for the Teaching Assistant program I'm in this summer) is actually very enjoyable. I'm starting to visualize being a teacher, the sorts of assignments I'll be giving my students, that sort of thing. Pretty neat stuff. I'm glad that I got over my shyness years ago. I feel sorry for the shy girls in my class. I wish I could get them over that sort of thing. I registered for my fall classes - British Romantic Literature and American Lit to 1875. Graduation requirements, as there are no Medieval or Renaissance Lit classes this semester. The nerve!

This weekend we're having a yard sale. Be sure to stop by! It will be so hot, I'm not looking forward to it. Hope we make some extra cash.

Again, apologies for not keeping up with everyone's journal. After next week, I will have a home of my own with my computer and Internet connection (I hope), so I can stay up late with Live Journal.
