This Modern World: A Brief History of Marriage in America.

I can't see how anyone can argue with that. Brilliant that Tom Tomorrow was able to distill it into four panels.

I think it's interesting how this issue has really come to the forefront - I wonder if this is what it was like in the 1960's Civil Rights struggle. Only there were no annoying SUVs back then.

The one thing I would say as a word of caution is, if you can get married, then you can get divorced too - divorce is really painful, even if it's for the best. Trust me on this one. But that caveat would go for all straight couples as well. As a matter of fact, all the people saying that letting gays marry will somehow undermine the institution of marriage haven't said one word about the high divorce rate - somewhere around 50%, I think?

I wish I could be more articulate on the subject, but my brain is currently fried.
