Weather Bulletin from the National Mom Association

The National Weather Service is teaming up with someone's mother to write their watches and warnings - check out this advisory:

"A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND WINDS WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS... MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A HAT AND GLOVES."

In other news, you can't have a BB gun because you might shoot your eye out.

It is zero degrees F outside right now, I think I'll stay in and bake something.

Yeah, well, considering how many college-age people I see in the local university town going around with neither hats, nor scarves, nor gloves, the advisory's obviously having as much effect as mothers. It's yet another confirmation that fashion often triumphs over good sense. ("Wear a hat? But it'd ruin my haircut!")

Very true. When I see someone wearing flip flops in temperatures below 60 degrees F I want to shake some sense into them!
