What's on our Tee Vee these days:Heroes: The quality seems to be either good to very good or disappointing this season. And again, I find myself wondering how much scrutiny I should subject a show that's more like a comic book to - on the other hand, The Watchmen. The two main problems I had with this week were with the Hiro and Sylar storylines. For Hiro - I dunno, Ando gets Hiro to squint and that triggers him to teleport? Also, who is publishing Ninth Wonders since Isaac is dead? For Sylar, I kind of felt like Pappa Patrelli watched a little too much Dr. Phil - "son, you just need empathy to solve your sawing-into-fellow-emo-sapiens'-heads problem." Plus, learning about whole chunks of previous storyline - like the relationship between Elle and Sylar -via some weird drug-induced flashback all in one swoop last week was odd  (how exactly does that work? Oh, never mind).

Dexter: great so far, though I can pretty much guess how it's going to end for Jimmy Smits' character. I like the plotline for this season, after the explored Dexter's family and he almost got caught, watching him learn to be a friend and a husband is a neat direction.  I do hope that Rita doesn't wind up in a refrigerator. Also, Debra? worst.cop.ever.

Trueblood: Fun. It's like a mix of Twin Peaks and a soap opera. I've only read the first book so far. I think the weakest storyline is Tara, the voodoo, and the drunk momma.
