I think I'm gonna like it here
Jun. 28th, 2004 12:53 pmHere I am at my new academic home - in the library, to be precise. Drove up here Sunday afternoon; I'm staying at a hotel for two days until my relatives return from vacation.
You know, the quest to get into grad school was so long, that today, my first day of class, was a bit anti-climatic. That doesn't mean I'm not enjoying it, though. I feel very happy. The weather is hot but it's not oppressive. People are nice, even to an old lady like me. And I already have homework!
I will have limited access to a computer until we get our apartment the middle of next month; plus, our professor called this summer session "boot camp". I'll be computing on-campus, which isn't such a bad deal - nice flat screen monitors, high-tech looking Dells. I do have access to e-mail, so feel free to write.
