There's this light green brocade at my favorite fabric store - I've been lusting after it. It was in their clearance room for $10 a yard.
Instead of giving in to my baser urges, I sat down and made a list of all the fabric I have in my stash. I decided I have enough fabric for plenty of fun projects, and was content.

Then I happened to wander into the fabric shop this week. They happened to be having a sale. The fabric was marked down to $5 a yard.

I left the store with 6 yards, which should be enough for a Venetian gown.

Meanwhile, I've been working on a new ensemble for this weekend. I go now to sew buttonholes.

I think I will start documenting the step-by-step process, but only post a synopsis of my creative process once I'm finished. I think I have a hard time sewing for an audience. I know that's silly, but that's me.

I agree, if at all possible, it's best to grab it when you can. The brocade pattern cries out to be a Venetian. I'm going to have to age it first though.
