the leisure suit - with shorts!
the leisure suit - with shorts!

  • Pornstache!
  • shorts! And a sports jacket!
  • long socks with shorts!
  • Isn't that what British boys wear at prestigious prep schools?
  • I bet it's made out of itchy itchy polyester.
Did any man actually wear this look - I mean the shorts-long socks-jacket combo -  in the 1970s?

I think in the movies. However, I think the suit was usually paired with a turtleneck, and the golfing getup came with a jaunty tam o'shanter! LOL

I think in movies. That guy looks like the hero from Frenzy. Or the villain. Six of one; they dressed about the same.

I have a couple of family portraits from the 70's with my dad wearing horrible leisure suits. He completed the look with a dreadful tie, permed hair and a beard. Ack!

I've seen a photo of my dad in a denim leisure suit. It was a leisure suit crossed with a Central American army uniform so it had all these extra pockets. ?!?!

Yes, they actually did.

And actually so did women...they were "business suits".
